Food Safety

Food Safety and Quality is the cornerstone of Gourmet Foods business principles. These principles guide our actions to exceed our customer and regulatory obligations to provide premium food products, developed by our professional chefs. Gourmet Foods prepares its products under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agency regulations. Our policies and procedures are developed using the Codex Alimentarius guidelines and code of practice, adopting standards of HACCP and Preventive Control Food Safety Plans and prerequisite programs aimed at protecting consumer’s health.

In addition, Gourmet Foods has implemented both Performance Standards for Sanitation and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) as set forth in CFR 9 Chapter 3. CFR 21 Part 117. Our quality systems are independently audited by third party accreditation bodies to verify our products and processes comply with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) – Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) Standards. Re-certification is achieved through an annual food safety audit. Gourmet Foods is committed to achieving continuous improvement and remaining in compliance with industry best practices. We recognize and encourage positive food safety and quality culture behaviors and actions to do the right thing and have personal ownership.

Gourmet Foods understands its obligation to provide quality and wholesome food products to its customers. To that end, Gourmet Foods has implemented a standard for food safety and quality control which exceeds the required compliance with all state and federal regulations.
